Classes
Six signature classes plus a monthly Adventure Series. Each one is 45 minutes, built for preschool attention spans, and teaches real technique through stories, music and play.

Each class meets once a week for the full 12 week session at 5249 Duke Street, Alexandria.
Core weekly classes
Register for any class for the full session. Your dancer keeps the same day and time all session long.
Ballet and storytelling · Tuesday 10:00 a.m.
Beginning ballet woven into a storybook world, finished with a simple tea party ritual. Dancers practice class etiquette, follow a guided tale and learn their first ballet words.
Builds posture, balance, musicality, listening and social confidence

High energy creative dance · Tuesday 11:00 a.m.
Young dancers leap, stretch, balance and travel like heroes while completing movement missions. Structured dance games channel big preschool energy into control and teamwork.
Builds strength, agility, spatial awareness and self control

Creative movement · Tuesday 12:00 p.m.
The perfect first class for children new to organized dance. Scarves, rhythm games, obstacle pathways and imaginative prompts make the studio feel like home.

Beginning ballet technique · Thursday 10:00 a.m.
A gentle first ballet class with basic positions, pliés, relevés, traveling steps, stretching and simple center work. Playful, and focused on the habits that carry into continued training.

Character inspired movement · Thursday 11:00 a.m.
A high imagination class where children dance through fairytale moods, characters and musical worlds, using themed movement prompts and beginner combinations.
Builds musical interpretation, memory, self expression and confidence

Preschool jazz · Thursday 12:00 p.m.
An upbeat first taste of jazz: isolations, kicks, turns, traveling steps and short combinations. Dancers learn to start, stop, remember patterns and perform with personality.
Builds rhythm, coordination, memory and performance confidence

One class, a new world every month. Register once for the session and your dancer explores each theme as it rotates.
November
Magical pathways, rainbow stretches and floating movement in a fantasy world.
December
Launch, orbit, moonwalk and freeze through an outer space mission.
January
Stomp, tiptoe, stretch tall and move low through a prehistoric dance story.
February
Follow a movement map, cross imaginary seas and solve dance clues to find the treasure.
Late Feb and March
Glide, sway, dart and float like ocean creatures while exploring tempo and levels.
April
Prowl like lions, swing like monkeys and stomp like elephants on a jungle dance safari.
May
Balance on the tightrope line, parade like circus animals and twirl ribbons under the big top.
Our year round dance party club · $10 per dancer
A festive one hour dance party for every season. All Little Legends come together, whichever class they take, and friends and siblings ages 3 to 5 are welcome too.
Friday, October 30 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
A costume friendly fall dance party before classes begin. Come dressed up and dance through the pumpkin patch. A perfect first taste of Little Legends.
Friday, November 20 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
A thankful dance party before Thanksgiving break. Dancers learn a group dance together, play harvest movement games and share what they are grateful for.
Tuesday, December 22 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
A winter break dress up dance party. Come dressed as a favorite holiday character: a snowman, reindeer, elf, gingerbread friend or anything festive.
Friday, January 8 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
A sparkly winter ball to welcome the new year. Twirl like snowflakes, freeze like icicles and waltz in your fanciest winter wear.
Friday, February 12 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
A Valentine dance date for little legends and their dads. Partner dances, twirls and a special keepsake photo. Any special grown up is welcome.
Friday, May 7 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Just before Mother's Day, moms dance side by side with their little legends. Any special grown up is welcome.
Friday, June 18 · 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Celebrate the start of summer with beach ball games, bubble dances and a sunny send off before summer camp.
Club Pass members get a Holiday Legends badge and first dibs on spots. Each party has room for 30 dancers.

Registration for the Fall and Winter Session opens Monday, October 19. Classes begin November 3 at 5249 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22304. Every class is capped at 15 dancers.
